I received from our Master, the Baal Shem Tov, that as long as Malchus, the open letter mem – מ – it is not united with its Beloved, extraneous thoughts will be drawn to her and attack her, G‑d forbid. One must uplift it and bind her to its source. Then the unification of the Holy One and the Shechinah is made, in the mystery of the mem that is open to her husband, with holy thoughts.
