    אִם יִתְדַּבֵּק עַצְמוֹ לְדִבְרֵי הַתּוֹרָה הַיּוֹצְאִים מִפִּי הַצַּדִּיק, תָּמֵהַּ אֲנִי, אֵיךְ אֶפְשָׁר אַחַר־כָּךְ לִסְבֹּל וְלַחְפֹּץ חַיֵּי הָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה.

    If a person would cleave to the words of Torah that emerge from the tzaddik’s lips, I wonder how he could afterwards bear and desire life in this world.

    וְזֶהוּ (אבות פ"ד): כָּל הַנֶּהֱנֶה מִדִּבְרֵי תּוֹרָה, נוֹטֵל חַיָּיו מִן הָעוֹלָם. וְהָבֵן הֵיטֵב:

    This is the meaning of (Avot 4:5): Whoever benefits from the words of Torah removes his life from this world. Understand this well.
