And know that there is no difference in this principle as to whether his friend asks him to tell him, or whether to tell him himself. For if all the conditions in this principle have been met, even if he asks nothing of him, he must tell him; and if not, it is forbidden in all cases.
וְדַע, (כד) דְּאֵין שׁוּם חִלּוּק בְּכָל זֶה הַכְּלָל שֶׁכָּתַבְנוּ, בֵּין אִם חֲבֵרוֹ שׁוֹאֵל וְדוֹרֵשׁ מֵאִתּוֹ שֶׁיֹּאמַר לוֹ, וּבֵין לוֹמַר לוֹ מֵעַצְמוֹ. דְּאִם יֻשְׁלְמוּ כָּל הַפְּרָטִים (כה) שֶׁבִּכְלָל זֶה, אֲפִלּוּ אִם אֵין דּוֹרֵשׁ מֵאִתּוֹ דָּבָר, גַּם כֵּן צָּרִיךְ לְהַגִּיד וְאִם לֹא יִשְׁלְמוּ הַפְּרָטִים, אָסוּר בְּכָל גַּוְנִי {בכל האפנים}.
