אל תבא לקחת עצה ממי שאתה חושדו שמא יעצך לפי דעתו לטוב לך ואל תצלח בדבר וע"י כן תחשוד אותו ותאמר לו לדעתו יעצני רע ושמא נקי הוא בזה הדבר ואז יחשוב לך העון כי חשדת בכשרים:
Don’t take advice from one whom you suspect. He might advise you in a way he truly thinks best for you. Should you not succeed, it will result in your suspecting him and saying of him that for his own best interests he counselled badly and perhaps he is guiltless in the matter. It will then count against you as a sin that you suspected the innocent.1Yoma 19b.
