    שֶׁלֹּא יֹאכַל תּוֹשַׁב כֹּהֵן וְשָׂכִיר תְּרוּמָה – שֶׁלֹּא יֹאכַל תּוֹשַׁב כֹּהֵן וְשָׂכִיר תְּרוּמָה, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (ויקרא כב י) תּוֹשַׁב כֹּהֵן וְשָׂכִיר לֹא יֹאכַל קֹדֶשׁ.

    That the boarder of a priest and the hired worker not eat priestly tithe: That the boarder of a priest and the hired worker not eat priestly tithe, as it is written (Leviticus 22:10), “the boarder of a priest and the hired worker may not eat the holy.”

    שֹׁרֶשׁ הַמִּצְוָה וְכָל עִנְיָנָהּ נִכְלָל בַּמִּצְוָה הַקּוֹדֶמֶת, כִּי טַעַם אִסּוּרָן מִפְּנֵי שֶׁנֶּחְשְׁבוּ כְּמוֹ זָר אַחַר שֶׁאֵינָן קִנְיַן כַּסְפּוֹ, כִּי הַתּוֹשָׁב הוּא שְׂכִיר עוֹלָם, וְהַשָּׂכִיר הוּא שְׂכִיר שָׁנִים (עי' יבמות ע א).

    The root of the commandment and all of its content is included in the previous commandment, since the reason for their prohibition is that they are considered like “foreigners,” since he is not his acquired property — as “the boarder” is the perennial worker, and “the hired worker” is the annual worker. (See Yevamot 70a.)
