שיעור טלית להתחייב בציצית כל שקטן בן ט' שנים יכול לכסות בה ראשו ורובו וגדול אינו מתבייש לצאת בה באקראי לשוק אבל אם אין הקטן מתכסה בה ראשו ורובו אע"פ שגדול יוצא בה באקראי לשוק פטור:
16. The measurement by which a tallit is made liable for tzitzit: Any in which a minor of nine years of age is able to cover his head and the majority (of his body) in it, and an adult is not ashamed to go out and about in it in the market place. But if the minor’s head and the majority (of his body) is not covered in it, even though an adult goes out and about in it in the market place, it is exempt.
