Now let us explain the general principles that lie in the order of the arrangement of the morning prayer. Know that from the beginning of the prayer until Barukh she-amar is the world of Asiyah; from Barukh she-amar until Yotzer or is the world of Yetzirah; from Yotzer or until the end of the blessing of the Patriarchs is the world of Beriah; and all the rest of the Amidah is the world of Atzilut. The order of Asiyah proceeds from below upward. And in order to unite Asiyah with Yetzirah — and behold, there are harsh and powerful kelipot in it — one must therefore first unite the head of Yetzirah with the head of Asiyah, and only afterward the remainder of Yetzirah, which proceeds from below upward; and so too Beriah proceeds from below upward. The blessing of the Patriarchs is the head of Beriah, called the Holy of Holies chamber of Beriah, up to the end of "Blessed are You, HaShem, Shield of Abraham," and all the rest of the Amidah is in Atzilut. And this is the explanation of all the foregoing: for the eighteen blessings from al netilat yadayim until the blessing over Torah are the eighteen blessings of the Yesod of Asiyah; and from Hodu until Barukh she-amar is the head of Asiyah, its Holy of Holies chamber; and Barukh she-amar is the Holy of Holies chamber, the head of Yetzirah — and therefore it contains thirteen occurrences of barukh, the numerical value of eḥad, and this is the secret of the thirteen measures of mercy that are in the world of Yetzirah. And therefore Barukh she-amar has eighty-seven words, according to the version we shall copy below, God willing, to hint that it is the head of Yetzirah, of which it is said "his head is finest gold (paz פ"ז, gm. 87)"; and therefore one must say ha-mehullal be-feh בפה amo — which comes to בפ"ה 87 in gematria — and not be-fi amo as it is written in the maḥzorim. And afterward come the eighteen Names contained in those verses from Yehi khevod HaShem le-olam until Tehillah le-David, as is known; and these are the eighteen blessings of the Yesod of Yetzirah. And since it is known that in each world of the four worlds ABiYA there are all ten sefirot and all the partzufim — namely Arikh Anpin, Abba and Imma, and Za and Nukva — therefore at the end of Yetzirah we again mention eighteen Names of Havayah in the Song at the Sea, and the thirteen praises of Yishtabaḥ, which are "song and praise, hallel and hymn," etc.

Now, when one is in the order of Asiyah, which is from the beginning of the prayer until Barukh she-amar as above, he should intend to raise all the nefashot that are there to the world of Yetzirah; and in the order of Yetzirah he should intend to raise all the ruḥin that are there to the world of Beriah; and in the order of Beriah he should intend to raise all the neshamot that are there to the world of Atzilut. Then the supernal Malkhut is comprised of all these nefashin, ruḥin, and nishmatin, and through this the aspect of mayin nukvin is made within her. And one must include himself as well, in all his parts — that is, to raise his nefesh together with the nefashot of Asiyah, his ruaḥ with the ruḥin of Yetzirah, and his neshamah with the nishmatin of Beriah; understand this well. And we have already explained the matter of the ascent of the worlds: that only the aspects of the nefashot, ruḥot, and neshamot within them ascend, but the worlds themselves do not ascend. Likewise, in the descent of the souls after the Amidah, you should include your nefesh, ruaḥ, and neshamah with them in the same manner as was said regarding the ascent. Further, know concerning the order of the Shaḥarit prayer: it has already been explained above that from the beginning of the eighteen blessings until Barukh she-amar is in the world of Asiyah; from there until Yotzer or, the world of Yetzirah; from there until the Amidah of eighteen, the world of Beriah; from there until the Kaddish said before Ashrei yoshvei, in Atzilut; and from Ashrei yoshvei until Tefillah le-David it returns to being the world of Beriah; and from there until Ein kadosh ka-HaShem it returns to being the world of Yetzirah; and from there until Aleinu le-shabeaḥ it is the world of Asiyah. And the intention is that one must first raise the worlds from below upward, as above, the lower world becoming bound to the world above it, until all the worlds together are found bound within the world of Atzilut at the time one prays the Amidah of eighteen — and then the supernal union takes place there. And afterward one must receive the supernal shefa drawn down from that union, and must lower it into the lower worlds from above downward. Therefore, when we say Ashrei yoshvei veitekha until Tefillah le-David, we are lowering the shefa from Atzilut to Beriah — the intention is not to lower the world of Beriah itself. And so likewise until Ein kadosh ka-HaShem ki ein biltekha, for then we are lowering the shefa from Yetzirah to Asiyah. And afterward, at Aleinu le-shabeaḥ, the aforementioned worlds descend, each one to its own place, as is written there, God willing. This has also been explained in [the discussion of] the psalm Ashrei yoshvei veitekha that is instituted after nefilat apayim, and it is set out there at whatever length is needed; see there carefully. Now, when you begin the aforementioned eighteen blessings up to Barukh she-amar, you should always direct your intention to the Tetragrammaton of the heh filling, which is in Asiyah and issues from the last heh of the all-inclusive Tetragrammaton, since it is known that the final heh is in Asiyah; and this Tetragrammaton of the heh filling is the secret of the soul of Asiyah, called the aspect of nefesh, and it is what ascends from its place to Yetzirah, as mentioned. You should also intend the Name El Adonai, which is in the world of Asiyah. And when you reach Barukh she-amar, until Yotzer or, intend the soul of the world of Yetzirah, which is the Tetragrammaton of the aleph filling, coming to forty-five, and it is the aspect of ruaḥ, as above; and also intend the Name El-YHVH, which is in the world of Yetzirah. And when you reach Yotzer or, until the Amidah, intend the soul of Beriah, which is the Tetragrammaton of the SaG filling; and also intend the Name El Shaddai, which is in the world of Beriah. And when you reach the blessing of the Patriarchs, after you have said "HaShem, open my lips," then intend the Tetragrammaton of the yod filling, which comes to seventy-two and issues from the yod of the all-inclusive Tetragrammaton — for you already know that "HaShem, open my lips" is in the Holy of Holies chamber of Beriah. And in precisely this same manner you should direct your intention at the time of the lowering of the three worlds after the Amidah, as above, until Aleinu le-shabeaḥ. And behold, it is not fitting to intend each one of them by itself, since the essence of the intention is to include and bind world to world. Therefore, when you reach Barukh she-amar, intend the lower heh of the Name YHVH, and intend the Name BaN of the heh filling; and also intend the Name El Adonai, and raise them and join them with the letter vav of the Name, and with the Name MaH of the aleph filling, and with the Name El-YHVH that is in Yetzirah. And when you reach Yotzer or, intend the lower heh, to raise it and cleave it to the letter vav, the vav being cleaved to the upper heh that is in Beriah; and likewise join the Name BaN of the hehs to the Name MaH, and the Name MaH to the Name SaG of Beriah; and likewise the Name El Adonai to the Name El-YHVH, and join them with the Name El Shaddai that is in Beriah. And when you reach the Amidah, intend to raise all four worlds, included one within another, in the three aspects mentioned, from below upward, in the manner described above. And in this same way you should do in reverse at the time of the descent of the worlds after the Amidah, as above. Thus it emerges that when you reach Ein kadosh ka-HaShem ki ein biltekha, etc., you should intend all four worlds, included one within another, from above downward.

And when you reach Yotzer or, until the Amidah, intend the soul of Beriah, which is the Tetragrammaton of the SaG filling; and also intend the Name El Shaddai, which is in the world of Beriah.
