Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai said: At the time that a person rises in the morning, places tefillin on his head and tefillin with the holy imprint on his forearm, wraps with the commanded wrapping (talit) and goes out from the gate of his house, four holy angels attach themselves to him. And they go out with him from the gate of his house and accompany him to the synagogue. And they proclaim before him, "Give honor to the image of the Holy King, give honor to the son of the King, to the precious face of the King." A holy spirit rests upon him. It proclaims and says (Isaiah 49:3), "Israel in whom I glory."
אָמַר רִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן בֶּן יוֹחָאי, בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּבַּר נָשׁ אַקְדִּים בְּצַפְרָא, וְאַנַּח תְּפִילִּין בְּרֵישֵׁיהּ, וּתְפִילִּין בִּרְשִׁימָא קַדִּישָׁא, בִּדְרוֹעָא, וְאִתְעַטַף בְּעִיטוּפָא דְמִצְוָה, וְאָתֵי לְנָפְקָא מִתַּרְעָא דְבֵיתֵיהּ. ד' מַלְאָכִין קַדִּישִׁין מִזְדַּוְּוגִין עִמֵּיהּ. וְנָפְקֵי עִמֵּיהּ מִן תַּרְעָא דְבֵיתֵיהּ, וְאוֹזִיפוּ לֵיהּ לְבֵי כְּנִישְׁתָּא, וּמַכְרִיזוּ קַמֵּיהּ, הָבוּ יְקָרָא לִדְיוּקְנָא דְמַלְכָּא קַדִּישָׁא, הָבוּ יְקָרָא לִבְרֵיהּ דְּמַלְכָּא, לְפַרְצוּפָא יַקִּירָא דְמַלְכָּא. רוּחָא קַדִּישָׁא שַׁרְיָא עֲלֵיהּ, אַכְרִיז וַאֲמַר, (ישעיהו מ״ט:ג׳) יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר בְּךָ אֶתְפָּאֵר.
