1ו. על פי א"ב. חתום אליה בר שמעיה חזק.2אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵֽינוּOur God and God of our fathers!3אִוִּיתִיךָ קִוִּיתִיךָI longed for You, I hoped for You,4מֵאֶרֶץ מֶרְחַקִּים.though I was in a distant land.5בְּקִרְבִּי שְׁחַרְתִּיךָ,With all my heart, I seek You;6קְרָאתִיךָ מִמַּעֲמַקִּים.I call to You from the depths [of my being].7גָּרַסְתִּי לְתַאֲוָתְךָ,I am crushed with my longing for You8כְּאַיָּל עַל־אֲפִיקִים.as a stag longs for springs of water.9דְּרַשְׁתִּיךָ וּבִקַּשְׁתִּיךָI seek You and search for You10בָּרְחוֹבוֹת וּבַשְּׁוָקִים.[even] on the streets and in the markets.11הִנֵּה הָעֵתBehold the time has come12תַּרְוִיחַ לִדְחוּקִים.for You to relieve the distressed13וְתַעֲשֶׂה דִּין וּמִשְׁפָּט לַעֲשׁוּקִים.and do justice for the oppressed.14זְמוֹרֵיהֶם שִׁחֲתוּTheir vineyards, they [the enemy] destroyed;15וּבְקָקוּם בּוֹקְקִים.they have been plundered by the plunderers;16חֲמוּסִים נְגוּשִׂיםthey have been robbed and oppressed17בְּיַד מַדִקִּים:by those who crushed them.18טְפוּלֶיךָThose who cling to You;19שִׁעֲשַׁעְתָּthose in whom You took delight20כִּילָדִים רַכִּים.as with tender infants,21יָמִים רַבִּיםhave been for many days22לְחוּצִים וּדְפוּקִים.oppressed and battered.23כֹּל חָסָרוּThey lack everything,24מִטּוּב רֵקִים.they are destitute of [all] good.25לְבָאִים שִׁנֵּיהֶם עָלֵימוֹ חוֹרְקִים:Lions4This is a reference to our enemies who are likened to lions. gnash their teeth at them.26מָאַסְתָּ וְזָנַחְתָּ וְנָטַשְׁתָּYou have abhored, forsaken, and cast off27דְּבֵקִים.those who cleave to You.28נֵאַרְתָּ בְּרִיתYou have annulled the covenant29שְׁלֹשֶׁת־הַחֲשׁוּקִים:with the three [Patriarchs] who You desired.30סְחִי שַׂמְתָּנוּYou have made us an object of repulsiveness.31מֻכִּים וְלוֹקִים.We are whipped and beaten;32עֲצוּמֵי גָזָם וַאֲכוּלֵי יְלָקִים:torn by maggots and devoured by locust.5This is a reference to our enemies who are likened to locust and maggots.33פְּצוּעֵי חַבּוּרוֹתWe are wounded, bruised,34וְאֵבָרִים מִתְפָּרְקִים.our limbs torn;35צֳרִי חָדַלְנוּ וְדַלְנוּ מִתַּמְרוּקִים.we lack balm, and we are without ointment.36קוּמָה עֶזְרָתָהArise! help those37לְנֶאֱנָחִים וְנֶאֱנָקִים.who sigh and groan.38רוֹמֵם מֵאַשְׁפּוֹתLift them from the dunghill39וּמֵעָפָר תָּקִים:and raise them from the dust.40שִׁלְטוֹן בְּיָדְךָThe power is in Your hand41יְרוּדֶיךָ לְהָקִים.to raise up the downtrodden.42תָּקְפְּךָ בַּשַּׁחַקYour might is in the heavens43וּמֶמְשַׁלְתְּךָ בָּאֲרָקִים.and Your dominion is on earth.44אַךְ לִשְׁמֶךָ יוֹדוּ הַצַּדִּיקִים.The righteous will acknowledge Your Name45בְּנָשְׂאֲךָ רֹאשׁwhen You lift the head of those46שִׁבְעָתַיִם מְזֻקָּקִים:who have been purified seven times.6Israel has been purified in the fires of suffering in exile.47עַתָּה יֹאמְרוּThen all [nations] will say,48הַקְּרוֹבִים וְהָרְחוֹקִים.those near and far,49כְּהוֹשִׁיעֲךָ חוֹכֶיךָwhen You deliver those who yearn for You,50בְּמִצְוֹתֶיךָ מִתְחַזְּקִים.those strengthened by Your mitzvos:51חָזָק וְאַמִּיץ“The Strong and Mighty One52דְּבָרוֹ הֵקִים.has fulfilled His promise53לַחֲבַצֶלֶת הַשָּׁרוֹןto the rose of Sharon,54שׁוֹשַׁנַּת הָעֲמָקִים:the lily of the valley [Israel].”55אֵל מֶֽלֶךְ.Almighty! King!56יוֹשֵׁב עַל כִּסֵּא רַחֲמִים.Who sits on the throne of mercy,57מִתְנַהֵג בַּחֲסִידוּת.governs with kindness58מוֹחֵל עֲוֹנוֹת עַמּוֹ.forgives the iniquities of His people.59מַעֲבִיר רִאשׁוֹן רִאשׁוֹן.He removes their sins one by one,60מַרְבֶּה מְחִילָה לְחַטָּאִיםincreasing forgiveness to sinners,61וּסְלִיחָה לְפוֹשְׁעִים.and pardon to transgressors.62עוֹשֶׂה צְדָקוֹתActing righteously63עִם כָּל בָּשָׂר וָרֽוּחַ.with all who are of flesh and spirit;64לֹא כְרָעָתָםnot according to their wickedness65תִּגְמוֹל:does He repay them.66אֵלAlmighty!67הוֹרֵיתָ לָנוּ לוֹמַרYou instructed us to recite68שְׁלשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה.the thirteen Divine attributes;69וּזְכָר לָֽנוּ הַיּוֹםremember unto us this day70בְּרִית שְׁלשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה.the covenant of thirteen Divine attributes,71כְּמוֹ שֶׁהוֹדַֽעְתָּas You made them known72לֶעָנָו מִקֶּֽדֶם.to the humble Moses of old,73כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּבas it is written,74וַיֵּרֶד יְהֹוָה בֶּֽעָנָן“And Adonoy descended in the cloud,75וַיִּתְיַצֵּב עִמּוֹ שָׁםand stood with him there,76וַיִּקְרָא בְשֵׁם יְהֹוָה:and proclaimed the Name, Adonoy.77קהל וחזן:Congregation and Chazzan:78וַיַּֽעֲבֹר יְהֹוָה עַל פָּנָיוAnd Adonoy passed before him [Moses];79וַיִּקְרָא:and proclaimed:80יְהֹוָה יְהֹוָהAdonoy, Adonoy,81אֵל רַחוּם וְחַנּוּןAlmighty, Merciful, Gracious,82אֶֽרֶךְ אַפַּֽיִםSlow to Anger,83וְרַב חֶֽסֶד וֶֽאֱמֶת:and Abundant in Kindness, and Truth.84נֹצֵר חֶֽסֶדKeeper of kindness85לָאֲלָפִיםfor thousands of generations,86נֹשֵׂא עָוֹן וָפֶֽשַׁעEndurer of iniquity, and transgression,87וְחַטָּאָהand sin;88וְנַקֵּה:and Acquitter of those who repent.”89וְסָלַחְתָּ לַעֲוֹנֵֽנוּ וּלְחַטָּאתֵֽנוּ“And pardon our iniquity and our sin,90וּנְחַלְתָּֽנוּ:and take us for Your inheritance.”91סְלַח לָֽנוּ אָבִֽינוּ כִּי חָטָֽאנוּ.Pardon us our Father, for we have sinned,92מְחַל לָֽנוּ מַלְכֵּֽנוּ כִּי פָשָֽׁעְנוּ:forgive us our King, for we have transgressed.93כִּי אַתָּה אֲדֹנָי“For You, my Master,94טוֹב וְסַלָּחare good and forgiving,95וְרַב חֶֽסֶדand abounding in kindness96לְכָל קֹרְאֶֽיךָ:to all who call upon You.”

אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵֽינוּ
Our God and God of our fathers!
אִוִּיתִיךָ קִוִּיתִיךָ
I longed for You, I hoped for You,
מֵאֶרֶץ מֶרְחַקִּים.
though I was in a distant land.
בְּקִרְבִּי שְׁחַרְתִּיךָ,

קְרָאתִיךָ מִמַּעֲמַקִּים.
