Moses said to them: I won’t expect you to accept rumors or tales Rather, only what you see with your own eyes!84This is part of the formula by which eye-witnesses are charged before giving testimony. Cf. M. San.4:5 and Pisqa’ 19.1 “Come and take possession of the Land!” (Dt.1:8). Moses said to them: When you enter the Land you won’t need weapons. Just survey it and dole it out !
