ואשר שאלת על האשה שלוותה ואכלה. אם לוותה בסתם חייב הבעל לשלם בהא כל אפייא שוין. אבל אם מתחלה כשלותה לא סמך עליה המלוה אלא על הבעל שאמר כך אני מלוה לך ובעליך יפרע לי בטוב בהא קיימא לן דהניח מעותיו על קרן הצבי. ועיין בפירוש רש"י בפרק בתרא דכתובות (דף קח):
Q. [While her husband was away] L borrowed money for her sustenance. A. If L borrowed the money without specifying any terms of repayment, her husband must repay her debts; but, if the creditor gave the money to L saying that he expected her husband to repay him, the husband is free from obligation.
