צדיקייא אינון שלוחי דמטרוניתא, ומכח החסרון שיש להם שהם חסרי לחם, או חסרי מלבושים, ידעו שחסרון זה הוא למעלה, ויתפללו למלאות החסרון שם ולא יתפללו לתועלת עצמן כלל וכו', והנה שמעתי מן המנוח החסיד מוהר"ן זלה"ה כי בהתפלל איש המוני על לחם או בגד שהוא מתפלל בגשמיי, מזה נמשך שפע לחם ובגד בגשמיי ממש גם לאנשי הצורה, שאינם מתפללים על לחם ובגד הגשמיי כלל, רק ברוחניי, ודפח"ח: (בן פורת יוסף דכ"ג ע"ב).
Tzaddikim are the messengers of the Matron, and from their own privations, such as food or clothing, they know the lack Above and pray for it to be filled, but not for their own sake at all. Still, I heard from the hasid, R. N.73Most likely, Rabbi Nachman of Horodenka. that when an ordinary person prays for food or clothing, a supernal outflow of food or clothing is also drawn down for Tzaddikim, who pray only for spiritual needs, and never for physical ones.
