Serve HaShem, blessed is He, with fear and joy, for these are, “Two lovers who never separate.”183See Shaar HaYichud of Rabbi DovBer of Lubavitch, Ch. 6, translated as The Gate of Unity. Fear without joy results from the dominance of the “black gall.” However, it is of no benefit to be anguished over how to best serve HaShem, blessed is He. Instead, always be joyful. Even at the moment you are anguished, you still must serve HaShem, and you do not have the time to dwell on how to best serve Him.
