נהר מ - לבאר כי יתחלפו המצות כפי חילוף עושיהם:
Nahar 40 - Explaining that the commandments change according to the one performing them:

הענין כי כמו שהשגת אדם בתורה ובאלו"ה הוא לשעורין, כי כל אחד ואחד משיג כפי דקות נשמתו, ויש שאינו משיג כל כך מפני שאין נשמתו במדריגה ההיא, כן סוד מעשה המצות תעלה שיעור המצוה או תרד כפי ענין דקות או עוביות המקיים המצוה. והמשל מצות תפילין ימצא כסא בגוף הצדיק ומרכבה להקב"ה בסוד תפלה של ראש, ומרכבה לשכינה בסוד תפלה של יד, אמנם עמי הארץ מכניעין בסוד התפילין היצר הרע אבל לא יוכלו לעשות כסא ומרכבה לשכינה כנזכר בר"מ פ' פנחס, כן כיוצא בו לשאר מצות. וזמש"ל:
The concept is that, just as a person's understanding of Torah and the Elokut (Godly realms) corresponds to the rungs [of the spiritual ladder], each person grasps according to the subtlety of their soul. Some do not grasp as much because their soul is not on that level. Similarly, the secret of the performance of the commandments ascends or descends according to the specific individual, taking into account the fineness or coarseness of how the commandment is fulfilled. As an example, the commandment of Tefillin may result in a throne within the body of a righteous individual and a chariot for the Holy One, blessed be He, with the secret of the Tefillin of the head, and a chariot for the Divine Presence with the secret of the Tefillin of the arm. However, common people subdue the evil inclination with the secret of Tefillin but cannot create a throne and chariot for the Divine Presence, as mentioned in the Zohar in Parshat Pinchas. The same applies to other commandments.
