How do I know to include any tool [essential to one’s livelihood]? The Teaching states: “For it is like seizing his livelihood” (Dt.24:6). If so, why is it stated: “A mill or a millstone” (Dt.24:6)? Just as a mill and millstone are distinctive, in that they are two tools that facilitate a single process, and one is liable for replacing this one by itself and that one by itself, so, too, all tools that facilitate a single process— one is liable for replacing this one by itself and that one by itself.368//T.
